Safety Swing Gates

At CH Bull, we don’t just sell gates; we engineer safety.

Standard gate solutions rarely fit the realities of an active loading dock. CH Bull helps you select the right swing or folding gate to eliminate drop hazards, maintain safe access points, and keep workflows moving.

Common Questions

For ladderway floor holes and platform openings, OSHA requires the entrance to be protected by a self-closing gate or arranged so a worker cannot walk directly into the opening. A chain that must be manually replaced does not provide the same automatic protection as a self-closing gate.

The right gate depends on the opening width, location, mounting surface, available clearance, and how workers or equipment move through the area. Self-closing swing gates work well for routine access points, while wider loading dock and mezzanine openings may require a vertical lift or counterbalanced gate.

A swing gate opens horizontally and automatically closes behind the worker. A vertical lift gate raises upward, making it a better option for wide openings, loading docks, or areas where there is not enough room for a gate to swing.

Yes. Gate sizes and adjustment ranges vary by product. The YellowGate XL adjusts in the field from 6 to 12 feet, making it suitable for loading docks, wide mezzanine openings, and other large access points.
