The Challenge
The cooling tower maintenance area sat above existing piping and structural supports, leaving workers without a permanent stairway or protected landing. Limited clearance around the equipment also required a platform designed to fit the available space.
The CH Bull Solution
CH Bull configured a modular ErectaStep platform around the existing cooling tower, piping, and structural supports. A 3D model and engineered front- and top-view drawings were used to confirm the platform dimensions, stair location, guardrail placement, and equipment clearances before installation.
The completed bolt-together system provides permanent stair access, a stable maintenance platform, and full perimeter guardrails. Its modular construction also allows the platform to be adjusted if the equipment or access requirements change.
Project Outcome
The retrofit replaced portable ladder access with a permanent, repeatable route to the cooling tower. Maintenance personnel can now reach the elevated work area by stairs and work from a stable, fully guarded platform.
